PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A strategic study, its main objective is to develop sufficient capacity to meet the steadily increasing demand for air transport in Cotonou. The site’s location must sdhere to specific criteria, including environmental, economic and technical conditions, in particular the ability to accommodate all types of aircraft, including wide-body jets, which should help strengthen Benin’s strategic position in West and Central Africa. On the urban level, the commissioning of the new airport will free up a 250 ha site as well as the surrounding urbanization of constraints related to noise and easements.
